It's been an eventful week. I shall update from where I left off.

After watching New Moon (which totally sucked, in my opinion) the guys wanted to have a drink...so off to Decanter. LOL at QueenStick's face. Choo cute, honest.

It was really a loong loong night, but I had to be up early the next day to support Jeremy's event, Project G.I.V.E. (Good job, Jeremy!) Got caught up at Subang Square for a wee bit cos it rained cats and dogs, so picture time!

We had nothing to do so we sat on an empty table and started calling people to our "Confession Table."

I'm sorry to be a party pooper to all Twihard Fans *coughAndrea&Irenecough* but New Moon isn't something to shout about, really. I watched New Moon's Behind The Scenes and the Red Carpet Premiere few days before I went to the cinema. And from what they have said..it's the MOST awaited film of 2009, New Moon takes it up a notch, great CGIs, yadda yadda yadda. I think I expected sooo much more that it didn't quite get to me when I finished the flick.

I thought it was rather slow moving and that the conversations were draggy. And Edward Cullen's lines are so corny and cheezy I had goosebumps all over. But MissBigSpenderAndrea said that all the important parts of the novel were shown so I guess it should be good for them TwiHard Fans.

Anyhow, I'm still going to watch the rest of the saga, just cos I've started watching from the start. FYI, I'm neither on Team Jacob or Team Edward. =)

It was a Monday night, we lifeless people on holiday had nothing on our schedules so...Kris decided to Karaoke. Mmm, it was my very FIRST time in RedBox. More of like my first time going for karaoke because the previous ones in Armada Hotel don't count, cos it was more of a party.

I've got to be honest and say I had soo much fun, we sang till they literally shoo-ed us out. Heh. We're going to have another round and this time..there'll be MORE of us because some *coughsAndreacoughs* are still having exams.

The said lifeless people on Summer Holiday. (Except for Irene lah.)

Woo, we sang a wideee range of music genres. Ranging from Abba to Backstreet Boys to Destiny's Child to Soulja Boy. Yah, we attempted to rap but it was more like mumbling and trying to keep up with the rhythm. Much practice is needed, girls.

Even Fats was surprised he enjoyed himself and asked to go for another round. HAHA. And I don't know if he's actually singing his heart out or making silly faces for the camera. Meh. I think it's the latter.

The Banquet That Never Was.

I've just gone through my blog archives and for the past 3 months, I've only updated 5 times. Omg, I make such a lousy blogger.

Met up with Smay after what seemed like ages. Lunched at The Banquet, Bangsar Village which Smay refers to as Vivi. Haha.

"Woman, want to go lunch at Vivi?"
"Ahh, where's Vivi?"
"Ohh, Bangsar Village. My friends always say that."

Seriously, I was in shock for a moment cos I thought I was as bad a hermit to not know there was a new shopping mall in town that everyone BUT me has been talking about. Haha.

The perky woman of the day. She was soo happy after her first day training at Kiz Sports. Smay + Kids..who knew they would be a perfect combination, ey? =)

Loves.

For the many times I've been to Vivi, (HAHA, sounds like vajayjay, whoops!) I've been wanting to give it a try. It's really a posh restaurant, looks very atas. Heh. What with all the chandelier, greeneries, the huge ceiling to floor glass windows, nice tables..I thought their food would be as good (If not better) than Delicious. But I was very wrong...I'll tell you why in a jiffy.

We were reminiscing about our high-school days. And for those who don't already know, the said perky woman here was once a cheerleader in school. She's naturally jumpy and quirky, just perfect cheerleader material, if you know what I mean.

As for me, quite evidently shown in the picture, I am SO NOT cheerleader material lorrr. The thought of me holding up pom-poms is just atrociously wrong. Cheerleader 101, don't put on a fake smile like Joji's.

Okay, I've previously said the ambience is perfect but their one flaw which makes The Banquet the worst restaurant in Vivi is their cutthroat dessert. Argh. Smay and I decided we want to spoil ourselves with desserts so we ordered their White Chocolate Truffle Hot Chocolate Cake. Somewhere along those lines lah, you get the gist. And it was RM30 a pop, we waited for 15 minutes...and got this.

It's nothing worth my 30 buckaroos. Honestly, it tastes like Gardenia's Twiggie bread. And the GRAPES! Yes, the grapes...for the amount we paid, I was expecting strawberries, raspberries or blueberries. Mehh. And what more the grapes still had seeds in them. Adoi, susah lah ni.

And so, we were dissapointed women.

And then we had this crazy idea because that's what disappointed women do. Heh. We headed to The Chocolate Lounge because we weren't satisfied with what we had. And then it was time for the fondue to do it's magic..that is, to make us happy women again. =)

YUMMMM. I want to go have this again. Who's up for some choc fondue?

All in all, it was a grrrreeaat day catching up with Smay. And then later on, I dropped by QueenStick's place (Yea, she's back!) and the woman had no idea I was coming. Haha. I like giving surprises. =)

Summer Vacay Is Here!

I know it's been nearly a week since finals ended and guess what? Sophomore Year is out the window. =) So right after my final paper which I think I kicked ass in (fingers crossed!), I went home, took a shower and got cleaned up and headed out. I've been so socially deprived in a whole new level, it's not even funny. And I really was a ball of emotion cos not only was I mentally drained out from having two papers in a day but I was also all jumpy and quirky to go have a good night out with my loves.

And till now, I'm recuperating at home. I don't remember the last time I had literally nothing running through my mind. Cos for the last month all that kept running through my head was "OMG, have I covered that chapter?" "Hmm, I have three chapters to finish today." "Have I done that question?" and yadda yadda yadda. You know, work-related things. It really just grew on me that I needed a break. Not too long a break though, cos I'll get bored so Summer School's a month away. Shut up, I'm a nerd like that.

Moving on...

During my recuperation period, I've been catching up on movies that I've missed. Thus far, my favourite would be My Sisters Keeper. I think it's the first 'serious' movie I've seen Cameron Diaz in. Think Cameron Diaz means think upbeat-romantic-comedy-and-crazy-slash-careless-dancing-scenes. Heh. not the case, as for this movie.

On other movie update, I finally watched (500) Days of Summer. Having heard good reviews, I was expecting much more but it was still a pleasant movie to watch. I personally liked the cinematography, really captivating. And it's not that I only enjoy movies with happy ending, it just didn't leave me much of an impact at the end. Meh.

Ohhh..!! It's Christmas at the Tanuwidjaja's already! The tree was up even before my exams were over. I told Mum that I won't be able to help decorate cos I've got to study but I really just couldn't resist. And it was just me and Mum the whole time. Men in the Tanuwidjaja household don't do Christmas tree decorating. I remember last year my Dad came home and upon entering he saw the tree and said:

"WAH, so big ah??"
*walks away*

Hmm, it took us nearly four hours to put the tree up last year and all he said was four simple words? And it was the same this year. Meh. Case in point.

And my baking frenzy is back! You know, I've always had a soft-spot for baking. I could eat desserts for breakfast, lunch and dinner but that would just be utterly wrong right?

Today, on my to-bake list was Lemon Meringue Pie.

And last week it was Berry Chocolate Pavlova. =) I didn't get to snap a picture cos I dug right into the cake once it was ready. Heh. But just imagine a really thick pavlova base with chocolate chunks in it accompanied with yoghurt, cream, strawberries and kiwi on top. *melts*

I was to buy raspberries and blueberries from the supermarket but I couldn't bring myself to spend RM40 just on fruits. =( It's really expensive here unlike in South Africa where I can pay just a few cents to enter the farm and pick out however much berries I want. I missssss having that privilege.

Okay, that turned out to be a pretty long post. Haven't done that in a while. More posts to come, I hope. =)

Because it's the exam season, I've been M.I.A. Sorryy..! I promise I'll update more dilligently during my break. And...I have some interesting (I think.) posts drafted in my head. We shall see if it works out. =)

I'll leave you with my current YouTube favourites. First one's not something/someone new. I've posted up numerous Gabe Bondoc videos before. Here's my sweet pea, singing a cover of 'Sweet Pea' by Amos Lee. *melttssss*

And a couple of weeks back, on one of my YouTube stint in the wee hours of the morning, I found this awesome duet. The guy, Andrew Garcia, has James Morrison's voice! ZOMG, what's not to love.

And because it's all about Pinoy Fest this time, the girl (Kat Badar) is an epitome of raw talent personified, I tell you. Big voice! Here's a duet singing Always by Atlantic Starr, one of my all-time favorites. The kind of song you would want to sing in the shower. HEH.

Speaking of raw talent, this diva undoubtedly has the X-factor. But unfortunately, being a diva also means she can afford to postpone her 'I am...' World Tour in Malaysia, while the rest of us remain frustrated beyond words. Like me, I was REALLY looking forward to this weekend because it's been hectic with all the exam preparation. It was something I needed. To get away from books, for just one night. =(

So the question still remains as to whether she would still be able to perform after MUCH drama tracing back all the way to the year 2007. First it was wardrobe issue and now apparently it's got to do with security?? C'monnnn.

The fact that the organizers have scheduled refund dates also lessens the probability of the concert EVER happening.

I'm unhappy/frustrated/angry/disappointed. =(

Yea, you guessed it. Another backdated/overdue post. This was wayyy back in August. Oh, I remember, this was right BEFORE Irene's birthday. Cos I bought the Holy Cow balloon on the very same night. Yea, lightyears ago, kan? No prizes on guessing where this was.

So, Gooi's cam had this function where it can detect how wide you smile. I'd like to call it the Smile-O-Meter. And being the camwhore that we are, it would be a crime not to play around with it. Sigh, why are we like this.

That's me and my forced smile. The thing is, the camera couldn't detect my smile when I thought I had given it my all. Mehh. I shall practice, I shall practice. *pats self*

Fausha's also quite fail compared to the next one. HAHA.

Hands down, the winner of Smile-O-Meter round 1. We shall have a rematch when we're all reunited again, Yee Mei! I'll be practicing. =))

I never thought I'd give a good point on such an action-filled movie. What more movies about aliens cos I'm never a fan of such nonsensical plots. I honestly thought I'd fall asleep on the couch like I normally do with these kind of movies. District 9 = an EXCEPTION. Lemme tell you, mate...coming from me, that means it is a MUST watch.

One pointer though, I watched it on DVD and it did not do much justice. I'm sure it will be worth your eight buckaroos to catch it in the cinema. I would if I knew I was up for such an epic movie.

I cannot wait for the sequel. There are rumours I read from sites about a certain District 10 (or whatever they decide to call it).

I shall not leak one bit...so go WATCHH..!

On Turning Twenty.

So, it's almost three weeks since I've turned twenty. Wait!! Scratch that, I refuse to grow up so I'm now TWENTEEN. Get that right. So here goes my update.

This year...it was sort of a quiet celebration. It wasn't planned out properly, so everything's a little last minute. And I had a hard time choosing a place to eat dinner in. Because I'm fickle minded like that. Didn't want anything too posh. Nothing to crowded. And certainly not Ms Read, Delicious.

I decided to be a little more adventurous this time (Note that I'm never quite spontaneous when it comes to food) and went out of my way to Google new restaurants I've never heard of. So, Naili's Place was my final choice. We went to the branch near KLPac. My verdict?? Food: Mediocre. Ambience: Average. Deco: GREAT cos upon walking in, I felt like I was in Bali. For reals. =)

Apart from the beach-y/tropical concept, they have little tree houses to dine in. And I reserved one so we could have our own space. Cos' you know how crazy loud we can be. Only thing was, the table was too small for the eight of us. Mehhh. The lady whom I spoke to on the phone assured that 10 people will fit in nicely and would still be spacious. But apparently NOT! Marketing scandal...!

This monster of a friend conned me left-right-center. I had to have my MANDATORY alcohol drinks of which I did not expect to end up with THREE of em'.

1) Tequila shot. Which was beyond YUCKKYY.

2) Jaigermeister shot. I couldn't really taste it cos the Tequila was burning my throat by then.

3) Flaming Lambo. Which was surprisingly nice.

So yea, got conned. Thanks to this person below. Thanks la huh thanks.

Oh yah, there's also the Singapore Trip. I'm going to skip all the grueling details about me and BigSpenderAndrea's shopping trip. All you have to know is, Singapore's shopping scene is crazy mad! Would like to go back in December! =) Jom!

I'm up at 4 in the morning listening to overplayed/overrated/ancient songs. Meh, it's true when my friends say I'm a bore. And it's also true when Tina says I'm born in the wrong era. She'll tell you why.

iTunes was on shuffle, and I found it particularly funny cos' Nobody Knows by Pink was playing and then in exactly three minutes and fifty nine seconds later John Legend's Everybody Knows was cued to play. Of course I let out a giggle to myself because I am easily amused like that.

Now I ask,
Why is it that even song names are so contradicting? What would that imply to everything else then?

This is so atrociously wrong in every level lorr.

Just a couple of weeks ago, a bunch of us received a S.H.O.C.K.I.N.G. news that we never thought we'll hear in a million years. As far as I'm concerned, I still am very shocked over the incident.

An excerpt of the report to start the ball rolling,

Jokes aside, Tina and I have come to an agreement that our social life is now officially ripped off. I'm positive on this one, for sure.

So if you're wondering what I've been up to during my Mid Semester Break, well, you shouldn't be bothered because...As of late, nothing interesting (Nil, nada, zilch, zero.) has come my way except the constant studying to catch-up with what I've missed. Doubt you'll want an update on that..numbers, figures and MORE numbers. Meh.

And oh, I've been sleeping a lot too. Nothing new here, though.

My life's so mundane, it's not worth elaborating. I may come off as really depressing, but I don't roll that way okay.

On an unrelated note, just today, I had this funny conversation with my Mum.

You see, just recently Mum and some friends registered for a weekly computer class. When she got back from her first lesson today, she was already doing her "Typing Homework" which required her to type out formal letters. On top of that, she also did the "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." typing drill to improve her skills.

All this while, I was beside her. Merely laughing at how dysfunctional she was typing and the on/off daydreaming because I just woke up.

Being so impatient just sitting there, I got up saying..

"Wahhh, cannot tahan. I can't stand how slow you're typing. I want to eat."

She fired me back with a one-liner. (Yes, Mum and one-liners don't come often.)

"Ehh, it's just like how I cannot tahan when I watch you cook in the kitchen."

I thought to myself, "Fair enough, indeed."

If Mum compared her typing skills to my very limited cooking abilities, then I guess I'm really that S.U.C.K.Y. in the kitchen. Now now, I'm more than sure I'll make the World's Worst Housewife.

Cousin Ratih was in KL for a short trip and I played tourist with her for the week.

Thirteen years. That's how long I have known them for. I practically grew up with them all through my five years in Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Damansara. And I'm more than glad to say we're still tightly knitted. =)

Mmmm, Jason Mraz is yummy-er now that I've seen him sing live.

Just so you know, we had our Mcdees in the car on the way to Stadium Negara and I can safely say it was one of the MOST havoc car rides I've been in. Eating, shouting and more shouting all the way from Old Klang Road to Kesas Highway (Cos we were heading the opposite direction for a bit) to Bukit Bintang.

I won't be surprised if the Mcdees Drive-Through in Old Klang Road has put up a sign by now. "No Entry: Blue Volkswagen Beetle, BGD xxx". It was karayzehhh and people were starring at us, can Ai Ki?

The stadium was jam packed when we got there but we managed to get a good view sitting on the staircase. Most worth it sore butt EVERRRR.

The said Live and Loud concert I went in '07 blew me away cos James Morrison had some crazy mad vocals going on. Frankly speaking, I didn't expect much from Jason Mraz cos it would be hard to top Morrison.

By the end of it all, I was AWESTRUCKEDDD. Mraz has some TOP NOTCH vocals and sexyyy dance moves. The kinds where girls scream and swooon all over and go "AAHHH..! OOOH..!".

If you have been reading CJ2, this might look familiar.

Mmm hmm, I was on a mission to carry on Jon's legacy in hopes of increasing the number of Party Hat Victims. Unfortunately, it didn't go quite as well. You'll see why in a bit. That's Andrea Mah and I right before the concert started. Stoked stoked!

Movies. Today's post contributes to my recent hype about highly talked about award-winning shows.

Slumdog Millionaire, Changeling, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Reader and Rachel Getting Married.

I told myself I'd watch all the said movies and then blog about which I thought was the best one. I thought "This has got to be hard, we've got some phenomenal actors/actresses in all of them!".

I'm not going to lie to you, I was already rooting for either Slumdog Millionaire or Changeling because it was beyond epic. Period.

But NOOO, didn't turn out to be what I expected.

So, I bought this other DVD amongst the Oscar favourites; Seven Pounds. I have to admit, I underestimated this movie. Watched the trailer and concluded that it is a dull, boring, slow-moving and uninteresting show. Bought the DVD anyways cos' how wrong and bad can a Will Smith movie turn out to be, right?

And indeed, Seven Pounds turned out to be a milliooonn gaziilliioon times better than the aforementioned movies.The show started with a short scene showing a man (Played by Will Smith) dialling 999 to report an emergency regarding a suicidal case. When asked who the victim was, he replied saying "I am". By then, I said to myself "This is gonna be good stuff". Sat right through the 2-hour movie besides the little pause here and there to go empty my bladder.

Okay, can't spill too much information cos it'll be a kill joy. Trust me on this one.

I ended up taking zilch photos during Valentine's despite having the time of my life. When the clock striked twelve the guys went loco after buckets and buckets of beer, while the girls laughed till our stomachs overturned, literally.

And while Valentine's drew to a close, we were all at the same place with beer nevertheless, our good ol' mate, again.

Spoilt For Choice.

27th January 2009. Arrival at Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa.

After staying over at Trang on our first day, it took us another 7 hours to reach Phuket. And boy, was I glad we reached safely cos' we relied on a really old map held together by cellophane tape all over. Heh. And the highways are a total opposite of what we have here. BE GLAD. I know I am now.

Hilton's compound was REALLY huge. From the entrance, we had to take a tram to the lobby. No unauthorized vehicles were allowed inside. HUUUGEEE. I took this while I was on the ride. Heh.

Upon arriving at the lobby, there was a pretty pretty swimming pool just downstairs. And this was just one of the three hugeee pools they have. And yes, you've guessed it, this is my favourite place to spot people. Yes, I do a pretty good job at people spotting, mainly sunshines. And foreigners outnumber the locals in Phuket which makes yours truly a very happy-pappy person.

And the balcony was my study/nerding spot while I was there. A very nice change of environment to be in on my study break. And I could take breaks and look around other balconies...people spotting yet again. Hah!

28th January 2009. Day Two in Phuket.

What I would remember the most from this trip is the infamous Hilton's American Breakfast. And ZOMG, every morning I wake up only to find myself pigging out YET again. Good food, good food. I was telling Tina when I got back, "Woman, when I was in Thailand, I ate like I was in prison for 50 years, I'm dead serious".

As if I wasn't spoilt enough, Mummy and I decided to go to The Spa. (The name of the spa is The Spa, got that?)

Pretty wall architecture. I felt so zen, alright.

And yes, it was the MOST amazing hour of therapy I had. Heh. Felt so refreshed and recharged after.

Later that night, we were at Jungceylon Shopping Mall over at Patong Beach. Mummy and I got our second treat for the day and went for facial. Princess, much? While Daddy and Tupid Fatty found their source of entertainment that night over at the SHOOTING CAFE.

Fatty: Eh, guess what I just did while you were doing facial? I went to a shooting range.
Me: Ah? Shooting range? Sure fake guns lah, no doubt.
Fatty: Noooo, real wan. Serioussss.

Tupid Fatty convinced me it was a REAL shooting range, with REAL guns and REAL bullets. The kinds that can KILL you. Heh. And I got pretty excited and wanted to give myself a try.

Tupid Fatty scored a whopping 90/100 accuracy rate. Had 2 shots on target. ZOMG, potential serial killer on the loose, I tell you. Better watch your backs, people.

That's the gun Tupid Fatty used, a Colt 45. Which was easier to use. That's what I'd like to think.

I was just at the next lane. Well, I didn't do as well as the Tupid Fatty. Mine was a 73/100. Meh.

I initially wanted to put like a SUPER GANAS GILA BABI face on, but I just couldn't keep a straight face. Honestly, I was a tad bit nervous cos I'm afraid I'll pull the trigger unknowingly and cause havoc instead.

I chose to go with an old school Revolver which looked SOOO SLICK and HOT the moment I set eyes on it. Heh.

The Hall of Fame slash The Hall of Potential Serial Killers From Around the World. Scary okay, there were a bunch of 100% accuracy rate up there.

I left the mall pretty stoked about getting the chance to hold a gun, for reals. Heh. Had dinner at this really small, run-down restaurant near the hotel. Awesome fried rice, y'all! Never underestimate these restaurants.

So much for doing two very drastic activities in a day. Spa and Facial vs. Gun Shooting. Niceeee. Just like how I learnt ballet and Tae Kwon Do back when I was little. Heh. Don't you dare laugh.

I'll make this rather short, cos I'm in the midst of studying but my hands itched to blog. Meh. Short attention span, that is.

This year's Chinese New Year was a little off track for us Tanuwidjaja's. Daddy decided that we should go on a road trip to Thailand for SIX WHOLE DAYS instead of going back to Mum's hometown in Malacca.

So this was basically our route for the week,

KL > Trang > Phuket > Hat Yai > KL

I'm telling you, since I came back from this trip, I have developed an Iron Butt. I'm not even joking. It was an eight (close to nine) hours drive from home to Trang which was our first stop.

This is us passing by Kedah, I think. I dozed off in the car every hour so I couldn't and didn't keep track of where we actually were. But I'm assuming it to be the Negeri Jelapang Padi since I literally saw paddy fields at every corner.

One thing I loved about the trip was that we didn't have itineries which made the trip a very spontaneous one. We were half an hour away from Trang when we spotted a very scenic restaurant. We couldn't resists but to stop and EATTTT, again.

Of course being in the middle of a mountain, the restaurant had a forest theme. It had logs as pillars and tree-looking tables to spice up the atmosphere.

So, let me clarify myself, I wasn't in any pictures because I looked like a complete doofus. I was wearing spectacles and my eyes were sore from waking up too early (FREAKING 7AM) and my hair was a mess, A BIG ONE plus I was trembling after eating the incredibly spicy food. Hence, I wasn't in the best of mood to take pictures. Call me a fussy poo, would you?

I assure you, you'll see more of me in the next pose and tell me if you're sick of my face then.

3rd January 2009.

Right after I landed in Medan, we feasted Bak Mie (Pork Mee) first before heading off to Dodo and Donny's house for two ceremonies. One's for the newlyweds. They had prayer session going on but the couple was busy entertaining my lenses.

And the other event was for Dito's 40 day thingamajig. I don't exactly know what they call it, but it's something similar to the Chinese fullmoon.

There's the newly crowned parents. And they rock, you'll see why.

And of course, the highlight of my trip (besides the wedding) is to finally meet my nephew, Dito Aditama Usman. I love how he's got sexy pouty lips just like Angelina Jolie.

Why hello there.

I know I've been ditching my blog. A gazillion thanks to the never-ending load of work I have for Summer School. Bleh. Here's the second part to Dodo's wedding in Jakarta. There's more to come from the Medan wedding which I just got home from on Monday.

I believe this picture would do sufficient justice to my friends who say Indonesia has no sky-scrapers, no electricity and nil highways. Heh. This was what I saw from the hotel room.

Two zero zero eight is way past us now. It certainly was a challenging one as I continued on with new paths. But hey, I made it through and all I can do now is hope for MORE blessings and better/greater/awesome-r things for the coming year.

We're about to enter the second week of January 2009, and it just occurred to me that I haven't thought of my new year resolutions. Well, usually, by this time, I'd have a personal list written down at the back of my head. But I've noticed, I would always stray away and I'd totally forget them by the end of the year. Bad memory, much?

With that said, this year, I'm taking a different path, a different approach, a different perspective. Just take things one at a time when it comes barging up, you know?

Ola!

I'm back from Indo Land. Here are the pictures. Credits to Donny the Cousin who took MOST of the pictures here.

27th December 2008. Akad Nikah at Ratih's Home.

Woke up at SIX IN THE MORNING the day after we arrived. Gosh, I can't even remember the last time I woke up before the sun's up. We headed to Ratih's house where those who were taking part in the parade (which you'll see in a while) had to get ready.

As you can see, Daddy's wearing a sojun, Javanese traditional costume. Fatty and I didn't take part in the parade, so we didn't have to dress up. (Phew!)

Meet the newly married cousin, Dodo. Drinking a cup of tea before the ceremony started.

And this, no stranger to some, is Dodo's brother, DONNY. Mind you, he is 28 years old and just recently became a father. Heh. Yes, he posed for the camera, I didn't have to ask him.

After two hours of getting everyone ready, the parade started. The groom's immediate family walking into Ratih's house. Mmmm, my cousin is SIX FEET TALL.

This was placed in front of the entrance. No idea what it was for, but I thought it would be nice to take picture. I know, I was too jobless.

This was initially the car porche. Turned into an amazing tent where Ratih's guests from Singapore sat and there were Javanese band playing traditional instruments.

That's Dodo (the one in the middle) being a very slouchy groom. Also there was once the minister asked him to SMILE more because he was being too overly serious. (I think he reads my blog. Hello there you!)

Donny and Daddy. Everyone laughed at the sight of my dad wearing a sojun.

So, before this, the bride (Ratih) was nowhere to be found because Dodo had to get a green light from Ratih's family first. Only after he signed the papers, the bride's family "handed over" their daughter's responsibility to Dodo. Geddit geddit?!?!

I was in the midst of doing my International Business research, when something interesting came across my mind. And then I thought to myself it's been too long since I blogged about something interesting other than posting up pictures and videos. I know rite, my blog can be so pathetic at times.

(How interesting? I don't know, different people have different perceptions right?!) I'm just going to go ahead with this.

As some of you might already know and probably have memorized it in your head by now, I stay in the country side. Adding to that, on a normal journey downtown I would have to pass three tolls on the KL-Seremban Highway. And on my way to Monash, I would have to at least spend TEN BUCKAROOS (Or maybe a little more. You get the gist.) just on toll to and fro.

With that said, I, Jojico Tanuwidjaja (The Wreckless Driver) have encountered numerous TOLL DISASTERS. This is going to get a little embarassing. But hey, something to spice my blog up, no?

Scenario #1
I'd like to clarify that this experience made me look like a complete and utter FOOL. I was so ashamed of myself, I learnt a BIG BIG lesson. Here goes. *Big sigh* I'm not only a wreckless driver but I tend to speed MOST of the time. (Not anymore ok, after the 6 speeding tickets I had.) So, if I can recall properly, I was rushing to class because I was late. And knowing the-not-so-smart SMART TAG's censor may lag a little, I chose to be ignorant. I drove pass the toll gate like there was no barrier in front. AND BOOOM! The barrier hit my windscreen and it was dislocated from its joint. So scary, you have no idea! Made me duck for nuts because I knew the barriers were made out of rubber and it won't break into my car. Heh.

Scenario #2
Like I said, the-not-so-clever SMART TAG gets a little jammed up sometimes for no apparent reason. So, being the impatient driver I chose to go ahead with the TOUCH N GO lane. (Yes, now that makes me a wreckless, speeding, impatient driver. Go figure.) I was then still a very new driver fresh out of driving school, if you must know. I wound down my window and stuck my hand out to tag my card on the panel. You should know how I'm a netballer and I don't have butterfingers but I just had to have them on that morning. Sooooo, moving on, my card fell onto the ground. And I freezed for a millisecond. Now, I stopped the car too near the booth so I couldn't open the door. I then looked at my rear mirror only to see about ten cars waiting behind me. Some were even honking at me with their "What's up with that stupid driver" and "C'mon girl, we got to get going" hand gestures. HONK HONK HONK! they went.

I hate this part right here. Most embarassing moment by far.

I drove my car about 3 yards to the front and of course further away from the booth so I could open the door wide enough for me to get out. And yes, I got out of the car shamefully, picked my card up, and firmly gripping it, I tagged it.

Tell me, who in the world gets out of the car, fully standing on their two legs to pay toll?! WHO?!

Okay, I meant to write more toll disaster scenarios but my brain seems to be lagging at the moment. Plus, I've got work to do okay! You think I'll further humiliate myself?! Heh. My friends are so going to mock me the moment they finish reading this. Lalala.
